Searching For The Profound

Have you ever been left wanting for the right words?  Or felt that you had something important to say but couldn’t quite get a grasp on how to get it across? I am sitting here at this very moment looking for the inspiration that has escaped me. I feel as if I shouldn’t write unless I’ve had some sort of booming revelation, otherwise who would want to hear it, right?

SuperStar_2013_logoThen I am reminded that we aren’t all called to be world-renowned authors,  public speakers that leave the masses spell-bound, or famous musicians or artists that change the landscape of the entertainment industry.  Most of us have a simple yet infinitely more important role to play, and that is the one that we are individually called to.

Humble Service in the Body of Christ

For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your[a] faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead,[b] do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully. Romans 12:3-8 (NIV)

I believe everyone has a profound task, and that is to be what God has called YOU to be. Quit trying to be someone else if that is what you are doing, find your purpose in God and live it out to the fullest extent possible.  Know that in the completion of your God-given purpose, others will see the profound in you.  It is God working through us that transforms not only our being, but the world around us.  I pray you find that place of perfect peace and contentment in who God created you to be.
